Trahearne, the first Firstborn, steps out of his pod for the first time. There's no welcoming committee, no brothers and sisters, no Grove. The only knowledge available in the Dream is whatever the Pale Tree managed to glean through a couple hundred years sitting alone in the jungle. It's not even totally clear how awake she was at this point to talk to him.
